| Candidates who are nominated by the faculty and who elect to complete their degrees with departmental honors must submit a proposal for an undergraduate thesis project to be completed during the senior year. The thesis must represent a significant advanced undertaking in an area of either academic research or creative endeavor. The student will receive four to eight units of academic credit in DA 193H. The project must be approved by a member of the faculty who will work closely with the student as project supervisor, and be evaluated by a committee including the supervisor and two additional members of the faculty. Distinction in the Major will be awarded at the time of graduation to those students whose projects are declared acceptable. |
