WELCOME

The Department of Theater and Dance provide a thriving forum for the study of dance, theater, and other types of performance. The mission of the department is to develop and nurture students' capacity for self-expression and critical thinking; to train actors, dancers, designers, directors, and playwrights for professional work; to provide students with a general education through the media of dance, performance, and theatre; and to train graduate students as scholars and teachers.

Tour our exciting new facilities

RUN CREW NEEDED

The costume shop is still in need of crew members for both New Plays Festival and Plumfield, Iraq. Run crew is part of the Theater 29d, 49 and 149 sequence of the theater department requirements. Other students can also take it as an elective. Both of these crews are worth 2 units and are completed in two weeks.

Michael Douglas Distinguished Visting Artist 2007-08

Playwright Barbara Lebow is named as the department's "Douglas" lecturer for 2007-08. The department is presenting Ms. Lebow's Plumfield, Iraq, this spring directed by Risa Brainin.

 

Opening May 16, 2008


This world premiere production of Barbara Lebow's play is about the effects of war on a young soldier and his small town community.
